Care of printed clothes - what to pay attention to?

Is your freshly ordered T-shirt on its way to you? Or maybe you are holding a sweatshirt in your hands with amazing graphics designed for you by a friend? Regardless of what printed clothing you have in your wardrobe, you need to pay attention to proper care.

Prints are very delicate creations that can be damaged if the user does not treat them properly. Yes, modern technologies and high-quality equipment allow the print to stay on the material for quite a long time, but this does not relieve us of proper care. It is therefore worth getting acquainted with these universal tips, as well as checking the rules for individual types of printing.

Washing printed clothes - what rules to follow?

How to wash printed clothes ? First of all, you should stick to a fairly universal instruction. Points to remember are:

  • Washing and ironing should be done inside out.
  • The maximum temperature during washing should not exceed 30-40 degrees Celsius.
  • During washing, spinning must not exceed 600 revolutions per minute.
  • The use of automatic drying is not recommended.
  • Strong chemicals are not recommended.

These classic rules are worth remembering. They can come in handy for many things. If there is a label on the clothes, you will certainly find all the necessary information that you will need to care for the clothes.

Washing and care may depend on the type of print. If you know what method was used to make the print on your clothes, you can confidently choose the type of care for it.

Screen printing is a very durable method. It guarantees that the print will last for years on clothes. No wonder that many people decide to wash such clothes even at 50 degrees Celsius. Manufacturers assume that the life of screen printing is about 100 washes.

Sublimation is also a durable printing technique. In this case, the print is created using a special chemical reaction. The entire graphic blends into the material. If you have clothes with this print in your wardrobe, they should be washed at a maximum of 70 degrees Celsius. These types of prints rarely disappear from T-shirts - they are very well made, and this technology is practically indestructible.

Digital printing - durability of this method is approx. 100 washes. Clothing should be washed at the recommended 30-40 degrees Celsius.

Computer embroidery is considered another highly durable printing option. If we do not damage the clothes with such a print, no washing will be able to damage it. Depending on what the fabric itself requires, such clothes can be washed at 30 and 90 degrees.

Latex foil is a printing method that has some limitations. In this case, it is worth limiting yourself to washing at 30-50 degrees. The type of print allows for about 100 washes.

Flex.flock foil is a print that will last a lot on clothes. This method will survive about 500 washes, but it is worth remembering the right temperature, i.e. 30-50 degrees.

How to wash white printed T-shirts?

How to wash printed sweatshirts if they are white? How to wash white T-shirts ? These questions keep many of us awake at night. We want our prints on everything to be as durable as possible and always look fantastic.

When taking care of printed clothes, the first important rule that we absolutely must follow is to wash white clothes completely separately. Sometimes one colorful thing is enough to color the rest of the laundry. Of course, we can never be sure whether a given item dyes or not. It is not worth the risk, because in this way we can destroy our favorite items of clothing. As part of safety, it is also worth using slightly lower temperatures. If we are not sure what method the print was made in, and there is no such information anywhere on the clothes, it is better to be safe. Especially since many prints do not differ that much from each other to the touch.

Drying printed clothes - what is worth knowing?

After washing your clothes, it's time to dry them. If we want to ensure that the print stays in good condition for the maximum length of time, we need to apply some very simple rules in the case of drying. First of all, it's better for clothes if we give up drying in a tumble dryer. The print will hold much better when it is not exposed to the bright sun. A hot radiator is another place where a t-shirt or sweatshirt with a print should not appear.

The safest way to dry clothes is to hang them in the traditional way on a dryer. It is best for the print that it does not stand in direct sunlight or too close to a radiator. By drying clothes in this way, you can be sure that the print will remain intact for a very long time!

How to start ironing printed clothes?

Does washing at 60 degrees damage clothes? not necessarily! The more difficult thing is ironing! First of all, it is worth remembering that all clothes should be ironed inside out - especially those with a print. It is best to inculcate this rule in yourself and effectively, because ironing a T-shirt or sweatshirt inside out can not only destroy the print itself, but also the iron. The print may peel off from the clothes and stick directly to the iron plate. In a situation where you need to iron the entire garment, also in the place of the print, it is best to use a thin cloth that will protect the print and the material.

The iron you use to iron printed clothes should be at medium heat. It is not worth ironing such clothes at the maximum temperature, because it can bring a lot of trouble.

How to remove a stain on a T-shirt with a print?

An important consideration in grooming, in addition to the fact that it is best to wash inside out , is bleaching. Many people wonder how to whiten a white T-shirt with a print or get rid of a stubborn stain on a colored T-shirt. In such a situation, you can use various detergents and bleaches, but you must not exaggerate with their amount. Sometimes you can get the opposite effect from what you intended. Before adding strong washing agents, check the type of fabric and the information provided by the manufacturer on the label.

Interesting ways to clean clothes without stains are hydrogen peroxide and white wine. They will cope with stubborn stains, e.g. after red wine. Here you need to keep in mind the rule not to rub the material too hard against each other. The print may suffer this way.
